How to Tell a Trusted Betting Site: Seven Transparency Checks
A licence badge is a starting point. Trust is measured by whether rules are written, reachable and numeric: seven checks, one-sentence reasons.

Checks 1–3: badge, number, one sentence
The badge must lead to the regulator; the wagering multiple must be a number; cap and validity must share one sentence. Common misconception: the badge is enough. Reality: a badge is a picture; if the domain does not match on the regulator's page, it is not evidence.
Worked-example box: '20x, max 500, 7 days' → 4,000 turnover at 200, 571 a day; 'applies' → cannot be calculated. In percentages: these three checks are 43% of the score.
Checks 4–5: reachable table, written confirmation
The contribution table should open within two clicks; support answers should be confirmed by e-mail. A table hidden in general terms scores half; a site refusing confirmation scores zero. 'Support information is not binding' is where the site itself says chat answers have no weight.
Worked-example box: 'slots 100%, tables 10%' → the same 4,000 turnover means 40,000 on tables. In percentages: a reachable table cuts turnover uncertainty by 90%.
Checks 6–7: time in hours, rejection reason in writing
Withdrawal time must be written in hours; a verification rejection must carry a reason. 'As soon as possible' is not a time, 'system decision' is not a reason. Both show up late, at withdrawal and at rejection.
Worked-example box: 300 withdrawal, written 72 hours, nothing on day five → on a licensed site a complaint to the regulator, paid in two days; without a written time, waiting is unlimited. Profile-based: the new-site checklist and the scorecard are on the Trusted Sites page.
